The Balkans: Security Stepped Up
Balkan nations have stepped up preventive measures and border control to prevent spreading of the deadly HN51 bird flu virus in the region, which has killed three children in nearby Turkey, while 15 others have been infected. Bulgaria and Greece have introduced a practice off disinfecting all vehicles coming from Turkey and banned all imports of poultry meet. Similar measures have been taken by Serbia and Montenegro.
